The making of Sigridr, part 1 / Tworzenie Sigridr, część 1

I've promised to write about the new project... Well, it all started with Morgan Le Fay being sulky that I called her "almost like me". She demanded that if I say so, I should customize a friend for her - a doll that would be more (if not exactly) like me. Some of you, my fellow bloggers - I guess it was Smidge Girl - wrote one day that "those vinyl people are very pushy". Oh yes, I confirm, they are. She wouldn't let me say "no". Especially that there already was a candidate. All she needed was a new body (and some clothes and some other stuff ^^), which was found surprisingly fast (I suppose it was Morgan's magick) and cheap. And so, a pivotal Barbie (one of the Jazz Babes) is on her way through the Atlantic Ocean to donate her body to the doll I first called "Sigrun". Some of you might have noticed it's the Barbie doll from "Harley-Davidson Barbie & Ken giftset". I will have to change the name, but that's not a problem ;). So, a proper body is coming. However, I've already rebodied her.

Obiecałam napisać o moim nowym projekcie. Cóż, wszystko zaczęło się od Morgan Le Fay, która nadąsała się, że określiłam ją jako "prawie taką jak ja". Oznajmiła, że w takim razie mam zooakować lalkę, która będzie dla niej koleżanką a zarazem będzie taką miniaturką mnie. Ktoś z bloggerów, których regularnie czytam - chyba była to Smidge Girl - napisał kiedyś, że "te winylowe osóbki potrafią człowieka przycisnąć". Podpisuję się pod tym stwierdzeniem wszystkimi odnóżami ;). Morgan nie dała mi spokoju, tym bardziej, że potencjalna kandydatka już była. Potrzebowała tylko nowego ciała (i ciuchów i innych gadżetów ^^). Ciałko znalazło się bardzo szybko (podejrzewam, że to sprawka Morgan i jej czarowania) i tanio i tak oto nabyta okazyjnie barbia pivotal (jedna z Jazz Babes) już leci do nas przez Atlantyk, w charakterze dawcy ciała dla lalki, którą wstępnie nazwałam "Sigrun". Niektórzy z was być może kojarzą, że to barbia z gifsetu "Harley-Davidson Barbie & Ken". Będę musiała zmienić jej imię, ale to nie problem. Tak więc, docelowe ciałko już leci. Aczkolwiek już ją wstępnie zrebodowałam ;) (Bogowie, jak to brzmi...), znaczy, przesadziłam na inne ciało.

And they are: Barbie of "H-D B&K giftset" and some Fashion Fever Raquel with articulated wrists.

 A są to właśnie barbia z "H-D B&K giftset" oraz jedna z Raquellek FF, z artykułowanymi nadgarstkami.

Their separated body parts look quite terrifying. 

W trakcie rozbiórki poodzielane części lalkowych ciał wyglądają dość makabrycznie.

I could not take photos while putting them back, because I was missing some three pairs of hands for stringing the rubber bands anyway. So, here is a headless body with articulated both legs and arms.

W trakcie składania zdjęć nie byłam w stanie robić, bo i tak brakowało mi jakichś trzech par rąk do naciągania tych gumek. Zatem oto jest bezgłowe ciało z artykułowanymi zarówno rękami, jak i nogami.

And here is Sig again in one piece, with own head and legs on a FF torso with arms.

I've decided to put her on a proper pivotal body anyway because I'm not completely satisfied with the legs. They are far too loose and I can't string them better.

Zdecydowałam przełożyć ją jednak na kompletne ciało pivotal, ponieważ nie jestem całkowicie zadowolona z osadzenia jej nóg. Są zdecydowanie za luźne, a ja nie umiem naciągnąć tej gumy jeszcze bardziej.

But she definitely has potential within. It's just one of those dolls that appear much better with articulation. Now I have to make a proper dress for her. If she's supposed to be "mini me"... the skin tone (very pale) is perfect, the hair color as well, the make-up is a little bit too heavy but looks nice so I think I will leave it as is... But she should have a Norse or Slavic medieval dress and accessories. And I'm right in the middle of producing them. A white, linen chemise is ready (photos maybe tomorrow). An underdress (or a predecessor of a cote simple ^^) is already cut out and in need of sewing together. A Norse overdress (or an apron) is to be made as well as an optional Slavic overdress (a.k.a. navershnik). And a coat is ready. 

Oh, and I hope Alienora will make a mjöllnir for her ^^.

Ale zdecydowanie panna ma w sobie potencjał. To po prostu jedna z tych lalek, które zyskują znacznie przy bliższym poznaniu i po dodaniu artykulacji. Teraz muszę zrobić jej odpowiedni strój. Jeśli ma być taką "mną w miniaturze", to... bardzo jasny odcień cery jest idealny, kolor włosów też, makijaż jest może trochę za mocny, ale w zasadzie mi się podoba, więc chyba zostawię go tak, jak jest... Ale panna powinna mieć skandynawski albo słowiański strój średniowieczny. I właśnie jestem na półmetku produkowania go. Białe, lniane giezło jest już gotowe (fotki może jutro). Suknia spodnia (taka poprzedniczka cote simple) jest wycięta i czeka na zszycie. Suknia wierzchnia w wersji skandynawskiej (czyli tzw. "fartuszek" lub suknia fartuchowa) oraz w wersji słowiańskiej (tzw. "nawiersznik") jest do zrobienia. Płaszcz jest gotowy. 

Ach, i mam nadzieję, że Alienora zrobi dla niej mjöllnir ^^.

But that's just one part of the project. The pushy Morgan with her friend are also forcing me to make a witch-cottage (or at least a cottage-room) diorama for them.

I've even drawn a sketch of the project... But that will come in a post on it's own ;). Anyway, from morning I'm going to sew a lot and also I'm going for a shopping to some construction-oriented supermarket. ;)

Ale to tylko jedna część projektu. Apodyktyczna Morgan do spółki z powstającą koleżanką zmuszają mnie, żebym im zbudowała wiedźmią chatkę (a przynajmniej pokój z takiej chatki). Nawet naszkicowałam projekt tej dioramki... Ale o tym będzie w osobnym, specjalny, poście ;). Tak czy inaczej, od rana zamierzam dużo szyć oraz wybrać się na zakupy do praktikera czy innej castoramy ;).

Almost like me / Prawie taka jak ja

Contrary to my personal life, I'm lately lucky on eBay. It's been already second or third time in the last couple of days that I manage to get a small "treasure" for a very pleasant price. One of those great findings is Kayla Secret Spells, a quite rare, extinguishing and controversial doll. I've wanted her since I first heard of her (and saw some pictures on the net). Then in May on a dolly meeting I could see her in person and knew I must get her. But there was always something more important. I'm not going to write with full details of her, of all that line of dolls and so on, since Rudy Królik here has already done it very well. Only a few words more of the controversies. When the Secret Spells Trio of dolls (a.k.a. "the vinyl coven" ^^) appeared on store shelves, there were generally two reaction to them. The Wiccans (and other Pagans) who lacked a sense of humor as well as Christian fundamentalists both were attacking Mattel, pointing how bad those dolls are for Wicca / Christianity (to the first: ridiculing the Craft, Magick, Belief, etc., according to them / to the second: spreading Occultism, Satanism and Paganism to posses the minds of little girls and distract them from the church). The other reaction, from Wiccans (and other Pagans) and Christians with a healthy mind, sense of humor and a sense of distance towards own self, was very warm and full of delight. You know, it's just this kind of doll that you either love it or hate it, tertium non datur. When the joint forces of uptight Wiccans and fundamentalist Christians won and forced Mattel to recall the Secret Spells dolls from the shelves, the lucky collectors (of all possible faiths ^^), who had managed to buy them before, started rubbing their hands with joy and listing their dolls on eBay at very un-playline prices. Add to that shipping costs to Europe and you can buy like two other dolls for that.

W przeciwieństwie do mojego życia prywatnego, mam ostatnio szczęście na eBayu. To już drugi czy trzeci raz w ciągu ostatnich kilku dni, kiedy udało mi się upolować jakiś "skarbek" za bardzo przyjazną cenę. Jednym z takich trafów jest Kayla Secret Spells, lalka dość rzadka, wyróżniająca się i kontrowersyjna. Bardzo chciałam ją mieć, odkąd zobaczyłam jej zdjęcia w internecie, a kiedy w maju na lalkowym spotkaniu miałam okazję pomacać ją na żywo, wiedziałam już, że muszę ją mieć, ale zawsze wypadało coś ważniejszego. Nie będę rozwodzić się ze szczegółami nad Kaylą i całą tą serią lalek, jako że Rudy Królik tutaj zrobiła to doskonale. Dodam jeszcze tylko parę słów o kontrowersjach. Kiedy Trio Secret Spells (przez niektórych zwane żartobliwie "winylowym kowenem") pojawiło się na sklepowych półkach, spotkało się z dwoma zasadniczymi rodzajami reakcji. Wiccanie (i inni poganie), którym brakowało poczucia humoru oraz  chrześcijańscy fundamentaliści, zasypali Mattel protestami, jak to źle te lalki oddziałują na wicca / chrześcijaństwo (wg pierwszych: spłycają i ośmieszają "czarostwo", magię i ich wiarę / wg drugich: propagują okultyzm, satanizm i pogaństwo, by opętać umysły małych dziewczynek i odciągnąć je od kościoła - prawie jak sekta toruńska ^^). Druga reakcja, wiccan (i innych pogan) oraz chrześcijan, posiadających zdrowe umysły i psychikę, poczucie humoru i dystans do własnej osoby, była pełna zachwytów. Cóż, to po prostu  jedna z tych lalek, które się albo kocha, albo nienawidzi, tertium non datur.  Kiedy połączone siły spiętych wiccan i fundamentalistycznych chrześcijan doprowadziły w końcu do wycofania lalek Secret Spells ze sklepów, kolekcjonerzy (wszelkich możliwych wyznań ^^), którzy mieli szczęście nabyć je wcześniej, zatarli łapki z radości i zaczęli wystawiać swoje lalki na eBay po bardzo nie playline'owych cenach. Po dodaniu kosztów przesyłki do Europy, można by za to spokojnie kupić dwie inne lalki.

So you can imagine my joy when I saw an auction listed as "some red hair princess" (I love it, when the sellers have no idea what are they selling ^^) starting at a very low price (and extra: with a very low international shipping fee as well). OK, the doll was deboxed and redressed but hey, I would recognize that face everywhere. I usually buy on eBay to get a perfect, NRFB doll, but I wasn't going to complain on that and let her go. I don't need the box anyway, if I can live without a fake potion, green scepter and bowl, then my doll also can, her original dress (the coat) is very nice but not appealing to me enough to spend some 40-45$ extra on it. And most probably thanks to the lack of correct description of the doll, I was the only bidder! ^^

Możecie więc wyobrazić sobie moją radość, kiedy zobaczyłam aukcję opisaną jako "jakaś ruda księżniczka" (uwielbiam, kiedy sprzedający nie wiedzą, co właściwie sprzedają ^^), zaczynającą się od bardzo niskiej sumy (i co więcej, z wyjątkowo niską opłatą za przesyłkę międzynarodową). Dobra, lalka była rozpakowana i przebrana, ale tę twarz rozpoznałabym wszędzie. Zwykle na eBayu kupuję lalki "doskonałe", nigdy nie wyjmowane z pudełka, ale nie zamierzałam narzekać, ani przegapić tej lalki. Pudełka w zasadzie i tak nie potrzebuję, jeśli ja mogę żyć bez oranżadkowej mikstury, zielonej różdżki i miski, to moja lalka też może, jej oryginalny strój (zielony płaszcz) co prawda bardzo mi się podoba, ale nie tak bardzo, żebym chciała za niego dopłacić dodatkowe 40-45$. No, a najprawdopodobniej przez kiepski opis lalki, byłam jedyną licytującą! ^^

After a few days she arrived. More amazing than I expected her to be. Just for the beginning she jumped into the only outfit I had at hand: a late FA sports set.

Po kilku dniach przybyła, bardziej zachwycająca, niż się spodziewałam. Tylko na początek wskoczyła w pierwszy strój, jaki miałam pod reką: zestawik sportowy późnego FA.

Look at her face. As Królik and I were talking, there is something magical about her. She tends to hypnotize a watching person, one can't stop staring at her, peeping at her, photographing her...

Spójrzcie tylko na jej twarz. Jak z Królikiem doszłyśmy do wniosku,  w niej jest coś magicznego. Bestyjka jakby starała się hipnotyzować obserwującą osobę, trudno oderwać od niej wzrok, przestać zerkać, przestać fotografować...

Why is she almost like me not "like me" as Królik writes about her feelings towards her Kayla? Well, I'm not a redhead ^^. But it's easier to change hair color than one's belief, so more important is that I'm not a Wiccan, although I do respect it. And I do feel some kind of closeness and bonds with Wicca and Wiccans, as we share some common ideas and experiences, a common "root" of European pagan tradition. And that is why this doll is almost as important to me as it is to Królik ;). A kind of, sort of "soul mate" anyway, you know?
So, what kind of doll would be exactly like me? I haven't found such yet, looks like I'm gonna need to make an OOAK ^^. She could be a mixture of Kayla SS and the Valkyrie from my last post, plus: black hair, black cat, medieval Slavic dress , mjollnir on her neck and an album on Native Americans' cultures in hand ^^. And, yeah, that would be it ;). It looks like I talk too much about religion lately... I tend to do so, when I don't feel well and something is bothering me. I'll try to avoid it from the next post, promise ;).

Dlaczego jest prawie  jak ja, a nie "taka jak ja", jak Królik pisze o swojej Kayli? Cóż, nie jestem ruda ^^. Ale łatwiej jest zmienić kolor włosów niż wiarę, dlatego ważniejsze jest, że nie jestem wiccanką, chociaż bardzo szanuję tę drogę. I odczuwam pewną bliskość i pewne więzy łączące z wicca i wiccanami, jako że pewien zasób idei oraz doświadczeń mamy podobny, mamy też rodzaj wspólnego "korzenia" europejskiej tradycji pogańskiej. I dlatego właśnie ta lalka jest dla mnie niemal tak ważna, jak dla Królisi. ;). Jest rodzajem winylowej "bratniej duszy" mimo wszystko ;).
A jaka lalka byłaby dokładnie  taka jak ja? Jeszcze takiej nie znalazłam, wygląda na to, że będę musiała sobie wyprodukować OOAK ^^. Mogłaby być mieszanką Kayli SS i Walkirii z poprzedniej notki,  z dodanymi czarnymi włosami, czarnym kotem, średniowiecznym strojem słowiańskim, mjollnirem na szyi i albumem o kulturach Tubylczych Amerykanów w ręce ^^. No i to byłoby mniej więcej to ;). Coś za dużo ostatnio mówię o religii... Zwykle się tak dzieje, kiedy jest mi źle i coś mnie dręczy. Postaram się tego unikać od następnej noty, obiecuję ;).

A bit later I've found a better dress for this doll. It's an outfit I've made a few months ago, based on Assire var Anahid's (of "The Witcher Saga") gown. But the doll got another name. Meet Morgana or Morgan Le Fay.

Trochę póżniej znalazłam lepszy strój dla tej lalki. To zestaw, który zrobiłam parę miesięcy temu, oparty na sukni Assire var Anahid z "Sagi o Wiedźminie" Sapkowskiego. Ale lalkę nazwałam inaczej. Poznajcie Morganę albo Morgan Le Fay.

Oh, and yeah, of course I swapped her head on to a fashionistas body ^^.
Aha, i oczywiście, przełożyłam jej głowę na ciało fashionistki ^^.

Down is the back of the coat. I was sewing such small items from wool for the first time and it was a little bit tricky, so I'm not 100% glad of the effect but she's going to stay in this outfit until I make something better.

Poniżej widać tył płaszcza. Po raz pierwszy szyłam tak małe rzeczy z wełny i momentami było ciężko ;). Nie jestem w 100% zadowolona z efektu, ale Morgan pozostanie w tym stroju, dopóki nie sfabrykuję czegoś lepszego ;).

It's not a crystal ball, only a globe, but maybe a witch can use it also to see?

To nie kryształowa kula, tylko zwykły globus, ale może wied(ź)ma może także i jego użyć, żeby zobaczyć?

And then the witch decided to go for a walk and perhaps some offerings or incantations to the nearest forest.

I'm just finishing cleaning and sorting things and I think I shoul do it more often. I've collected four cartons (that's right, cartons not pockets) of doll-related stuff which I don't need to have. OK, almost full one carton takes the ferrari, but anyway... ;)

Kończę właśnie porządki i dochodzę do wniosku, że powinnam je robić częściej. Nazbierałam cztery kartony (tak, tak: kar-to-ny, nie pudełka) lalkowych klamotów i klamotków, których wcale nie muszę, a w niektórych przypadkach nawet nie chcę mieć. OK, niemal cały jeden karton zajmuje samochód, ale i tak...  ;)

 

Generations of Dreams Barbie Doll

I've been thinking... Why not try to make the blog bilingual? The problem is, I'm quite lazy by nature so I'm not sure if I can do that... OK, let's try it ;).

Tak sobie myślałam, czemu by nie zrobić tego bloga dwujęzycznym? Problem w tym, że jestem dość leniwa z natury i nie jestem pewna, czy będzie mi się chciało... Ale spróbujmy ;).

Today I want to show You a completely new doll (yeah, a little break from meeting my old girls), new because I bought her as a NRFB, as my first Collector Edition Doll, as my first "model muse" body doll and just because she's from the year 2009.

Dziś chcę pokazać całkowicie nową lalkę (tak, mała przerwa od prezentacji moich starych dziewczyn), nową, ponieważ kupiłam ją jako nową, jako moją pierwszą z Edycji Kolekcjonerskiej, jako moją pierwszą o ciałku "model muse", a także zwyczajnie dlatego, że pochodzi ona z roku 2009.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Gnenerations of Dreams Barbie Doll, of the 50th Anniversary Collection of Barbie Dolls, as seen on the BarbieCollector webpage. And that's how she looked just after deboxing ^^. Well, more-less because I think the promo picture is enhanced in Photoshop or something ;).

Przed Państwem Barbie "Generations of Dreams" z kolekcji lalek na 50. rocznicę Barbie, tak jak ja przedstawia strona BarbieCollector. I zarazem tak, jak wyglądała tuż po wyjęciu z pudełka. No, mniej więcej, bo zdjęcie promocyjne chyba było obrabiane Photoshopem czy czymś ;).

As all my dolls, she needed a new name (as I mentioned before, only my first doll was and is called "Barbie" in my house). Her face and make-up reminds me Angelina Jolie, so... meet my Angie ;).

Jak wszystkie moje lalki, potrzebowała nowego imienia (jak wspominałam w jednej z wcześniejszych not, w moim domu tylko moja pierwsza lalka nosiła i nosi imię "Barbie"). Jej twarz i makijaż skojarzyły mi się z Angeliną Jolie, więc... poznajcie moją Angie ;).

Here she wears a sewn by hand dress of my production ;) and a hat she borrowed from Ken Fashionistas. And I insist she (as well as other girls) looks better in this hat than that poor boy ;).

Tutaj ma na sobie uszytą przeze mnie sukienkę ;) oraz kapelusz, który pożyczyła od Kena Fashionistas. I upieram się przy zdaniu, że ona (oraz inne dziewczyny) wygląda w tym kapeluszu lepiej niż ten biedny chłopak ;).

Up there You can see her lovely eyes and stunning make-up, yet no pictures can show, how beautiful and delicate her face is.

Powyżej możecie przyjrzeć się jej pięknym oczom i wspaniałemu makijażowi, jednak żadne zdjęcia nie potrafią oddać, jak pięknie i zarazem (o dziwo!) delikatnie jej twarz prezentuje się na żywo.

And here You can see the dress I've made. Why? Because her original gown, so praised by some collectors as I read teviews on the net, is not appealing to me so much. OK, I agree it's interesting. But it's nothing I can't live without. So I've decided to sell the dress (You can see it in the items of my Allegro account). Selling the gown forced me to redress Angie. And here I came across a problem. She, as a "model muse" has much slender body than any of my other girls, including the Fashionistas and their dress just don't fit her well. I've decided to sew something for her, yet all the patterns I had were made for either the TnT body or the belly-button one. Of course there's always the option of customizing the pattern but it's tricky if it's gonna be your first attempt and You have no idea of how you should change it for this body. I was searching and searching over the internet and I finally found one (yes, exactly 1 pattern designed for the "model muse" body) on a scan from non-existing any longer magazine "Barbie Bazaar". And it wasn't even written it's for the "model muse" but I recognized the doll model on a photo presenting it. So I gave it a try and that's what I' ve got.

Tu natomiast można przyjrzeć się sukience. Dlaczego ją w ogóle uszyłam? Bo oryginalna suknia Angie nie przemawia do mnie aż tak bardzo, mimo że jest bardzo ceniona przez kolekcjonerów, jak wynika z lektury opinii w internecie. Owszem, zgadzam się, jest piękna, wyjątkowa i bardzo interesująca. Ale po prostu nie w moim stylu. Zdecydowałam się więc sprzedać suknię (można ją znaleźć na moich aukcjach na Allegro), mam nadzieję, że innemu kolekcjonerowi spodoba się i przyda bardziej niż mnie. Jednak sprzedaż sukni zmusiła mnie do przebrania Angie. I tu pojawił się problem. Ciałko "model muse" jest zupełnie inaczej zbudowane i dużo szczuplejsze niż inne moje dziewczyny, włącznie z Fashionistkami, i ich ciuchy zwyczajnie nie pasują na Angie. Postanowiłam coś dla niej uszyć (co w sumie i tak mam nadal w planach), ale wszystkie wykroje, jakie mam, są albo na ciałka TnT albo na "belly-button". Oczywiście, zawsze można wykrój przerobić i dostosować, ale to dość trudne, kiedy szyje się pierwszy raz na dany typ ciałka i nie wie jeszcze, jak to właściwie leżeć powinno. Zatem przeszukiwałam sieć godzinami i w końcu znalazłam jeden (tak, dosłownie jeden!) wykrój zaprojektowany na ciałko "model muse". Znalazłam go na skanie z nieistniejącego już magazynu "Barbie Bazaar", przy czym nie był nawet podpisany, że jest dla "model muse", ale poznałam model lalki, prezentującej go na zdjęciu. Postanowiłam więc spróbować i oto, co mi wyszło ;).

Have I mentioned before that I hate lining (especially so tiny clothes)? Well, I do hate it. But it was a necessity with this dress. And, well, a lined outfit always looks more professional.

Czy wspominałam już, że nienawidzę szycia z podszewką (zwłaszcza tak małych ubrań)? No właśnie, nienawidzę. Ale w przypadku tej sukienki była to konieczność. A poza tym, niestety, ubranko na podszewce zawsze wygląda bardziej profesjonalnie.

When I sew next dress based on this pattern, I will definitely alter one thing: I will cut the skirt of dress as one piece instead of two. But yet it is a very helpful pattern because starting from it I can sew many different dresses for Angie just by changing the length, the shape of skirt and so on. And I already figured it out that if I add a few millimeters in the upper part it will make a great dress for a Silkstone doll too (it fits my Highland Fling quite well even now, but her breasts are too much visible ^^).

Kiedy następnym razem będę szyć sukienkę według tego wykroju na pewno zmienię jedną rzecz: skroję spódnicę jako jeden element zamiast dwóch. Jest to jednak bardzo pomocny i użyteczny wykrój, bo opierając się na nim, mogę uszyć dla Angie wiele różnych sukienek przez samą tylko zmianę długości, kroju i kształtu spódnicy. Wykombinowałam już też, że dodając kilka milimetrów w górnej części, mogę z tego uszyć świetną sukienkę dla lalek SIlkstone (nawet teraz sukienka pasuje na moja Highland Fling, tylko biust jej trochę za bardzo wystaje^^).

And here You can see Angie's body. It's my first experience with the "model muse" body, so I was curious how she looks comparing to other girls. So, down You have a comparison with a Fashionista doll (which is actually a little bit different than the common belly-button one). "Model muse" has much slenderer body, especially the hips, but breast as well. She is also taller. At first I thought it's just an illusion because of very high heals sculpture of her feet. But it's not just that. Her legs are just longer. Well, basically, she looks like an anorectic... (if You watch very carefully You can even see an idea of her ribs...)

No to przyjrzyjmy się ciałku Angie. To moje pierwsze spotkanie z ciałem "model muse", byłam więc ciekawa, jak wygląda w zestawieniu z innymi lalkami. Na dole więc drobne porównanie z ciałkiem Fashionistki (które właściwie, jak właśnie odkryłam, też minimalnie różni się od zwykłego ciała "belly-button"). "Model muse" jest dużo szczuplejsza, zwłaszcza w biodrach, ale także w biuście. Jest również wyższa. Początkowo myślałam, że to iluzja wywołana tylko przez jej bardzo wysoko (do bardzo wysokich obcasów) wysklepione stopy. Ale to nie tylko to. Jej nogi są zwyczajnie dłuższe. No cóż, ogólnie rzecz biorąc, wygląda jak anorektyczka... (jak się dokładnie przyjrzeć, to nawet żebra ma zarysowane...)

Oh, and a few words more about her feet. Her nails (on both the hands and the feet) have a nail polish of delicate pink. And her feet, as I mentioned, are very high-sculpted. They have (at least Angie's, I'm not sure about other "model muse" dolls) exactly the same hight, shape and sculpture as the Silkstone's. Which means Angie and my Highland Fling can wear the same shoes. Their shoes must be or also very high-healed or made of very, very soft plastic so that they don't break while putting on.

Jeszcze kilka słów o stópkach lalki. Jej paznokcie (zarówno na dłoniach, jak i stopach) są pomalowane na delikatny róż. Jak wspomniałam, jej stopy są wysoko wysklepione. Maja (przynajmniej stopy Angie, nie jestem pewna jak innych "model muse") dokładnie tą samą wysokość i kształt, co stópki Silkstone. A to oznacza, że Angie i moja Highland Fling mogą nosić te same buty. Buty dla nich muszą być albo również tak wysoko wysklepione i na wysokim obcasie, albo muszą być wykonane z naprawdę bardzo miękkiego plastiku, żeby nie łamały się przy zakładaniu.

I'm back

OK, I know it's been a while since my last post, but... But I'm planning to add them more frequently now ;).

Recently one of my so called hobbies got my full attention. Dolls! ^^ Why? The reason is very, very simple. Shopping ;). Have you heard of the "Fashionistas" line of Barbies? Before I bought any of them, I had made a quick research over the internet. Yeah, I know, the Mattel's policies are quite strange - to start a new line of dolls with four (that's wright! 4!) blue-eyed blondes, one African American and one brown hair is something... well, let;s just say strange. I so much miss the 90s, when you could find few ethnic (or at least different hair colour) dolls in every their line. But, anyway I bought one of them. And then the second, and the third. And, yeap, that's wright, fourth. Why? Bugger the hair colour. Their bodies are great! So, soooooo many possibilities of posing, presenting clothes on them, putting them in dioramas, etc. What is also nice is that they have different head moulds. The AA ona has 2001 AA-mould, the brown-hair one has a 2003 mould, and the two blondes which I have, have the 1998 mould, which I always thought is cute. I don't know for the other blondes, but I quess they have the 1998 mould as well. As for their hair... I also miss the 90s dolls' hair, so thick and long. The Fashionistas girls have them quite short and very thin, the curls are going to uncurl very quickly and as far as the blondes are considered it's not that bad, but hte brown-hair one's hair is a tragedy. Not only short and thin but also every single hair has a different lenght. OK, I know, the modern, fashionable haircut and so on, one might say. But this makes it impossible to style her hair in any differetn way (without actully cutting them VERY short). Their clothes are OK, accessories also, althought I don't really know what happened with the jewellery which the company makes for their dolls. Back in the 90s (again!) dolls' necklaces etc were really nice, with good quality and design. Now? The Fashionistas necklaces remind me of the fake and semi-barbie jewellery for dolls, which that time was coming to Poland from the East. No quality, no design. It's a little bit better with their bags and shoes, though.
OK, so which of them did I actully buy? "Glam", "Girly", "Artsy" (the AA) and "Sassy" (the brown-hair).
Of course, I'm going to repaint them ;). And perhaps also reroot, if I only dare (haven't done this before). I'm planning at least to dye the blondes' hair.

But. But most of all, I bought them to sew for them ^^, because of their great posing abilities.
All the clothes I made myself and all are totally hand-made (I haven't even got a sewing machine ^^). So, here comes what I've done so far (inspired by "The Witcher's Saga" by Andrzej Sapkowski): Model: Glam (temporary, she will go with the name Yennefer as soon as she gets black hair and a new makeup)
Dress: loosely based on Yennefer's outfit in "The Last Wish" story.
It consists of:
white underdress (white georgette) with long skirt and splited, weavy sleeves,
black sleeveless blouse (black satin),
a black corset (black leather).
What's still to be done: shoes (of black leather), small bag, coat or a cape (black wool).

Model: Girly (she's goint to be Assire var Anahid or Filippa Eilhart some day, I haven't decided which one yet ^^).
Dress: outfit based on Assire's green dress.
It consists of:
long underdress (dark green, thin wool), inspired by a medieval "cotte simple" pattern, with long narrow sleeves
long coat (light green-turqoise thicker wool) with short sleeves, close-fitting upper part and a wide lower part.
bag (of both kinds of wool)
What's still to be done: shoes, belt (currently she's wearing Arty's belt ^^)
